Michael Wassell
Born
in Alaska in 1953, Mr Wassell
grew up in the Quad Cities.
After serving three years
in the United States Marine
Corps., he was honorably
discharged in 1977. Mr. Wassell
received his A.A. from Black
Hawk College, his B.S. from
St. Ambrose University, and
his Juris Doctorate from
Northern Illinois University
College of Law.
Before obtaining his law degree, Mr. Wassell spent seven years as a police officer. He also has experience as Assistant States Attorney in Henry County and Winnebago County.
Licensed to practice law in Illinois and the United States District Court, Central District of Illinois, Mr. Wassell is also a member of the American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a member of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity.
Much of his spare time outside the office is devoted to the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts where he serves as a Cub Master and Den Leader. He is also active in V.F.W Post 8078 and the Marine Corps League, as well as church-related activities. He also stays actively involved in the local political scene.
Mr. Wassell is a frequent guest speaker at Black Hawk College, the Regional Law Enforcement Center, and local television programs. Criminal law and personal injury law are the primary focuses of his practice.
